Early spring and flowering was marked by stormy weather resulting in a low fruit set and subsequent low yield. Summer was average with nothing noticeably beneficial or adverse.

Tasting Notes

This vintage presents with a more woody, earthy nose under the vanilla and floral notes. A light ruby colour, the wine develops less fatness on the palate, showing its tannin on the heels of finely mellowed fruit. A little less focused than other vintages, but still shows good character. Will develop gracefully for a further 5 years.
